As a disabled retired veteran in the  Army, serving three tours ; OIF, OEF, and Kuwait.  Enduring eight surgeries during my time in combat. I found a way to express my pain and tell my story and other military personnel the sacrifice that we endured. Scratchboard is a great medium to express my feelings. The deep cuts and scratches explore the pain and agony that we spent away from family; and fighting for freedom for our country. Many look at the military as doorstops, but some forget that this country was built from spilled blood.

My scratchboard exhibits men , women, and children that are and is serving the military community. As a retiree I will always be a soldier; live as a soldier die as a soldier.
